how it all started

Bullet Journal

A few years ago, I was a 2-time full-time gig holder, a part-time student, and an entrepreneur. My life was filled with purpose; I just sucked at multi-tasking. It felt like I was doing so many things at the same time and yet I was failing to complete a single plan. However, it was not due to the lack of trying. It was just hard to find time to do so with my hectic day-to-day schedule. I needed to fix this. But how?

Everyone has heard about planners. It is not a new concept; it is one of those concepts that accompanies the New Year’s resolution idea. There is something about the first day of the year gearing you up to start living your life in an orderly fashion, ticking tasks off your to-do list. So, a yearly planner is quite popular. They have also evolved thanks to technology. You can choose to use a physical planner in form of a hard-cover book or you could use a google planner. Either way, the idea of planning out every day of my life seemed like the perfect idea. And yet, a lot of us fall off the wagon before the year runs out, leaving us with regrets at the end of the year because we did not accomplish all of the things we set out to achieve .Of course, I bought these planners but none of them worked out for me. I always find myself creating pages that I needed to include into these pre-made planners. So, I set out to create my planner. I was tired of having these regrets, and I decided to do something about it. I found myself designing a template of my own; I added features and focal points that help me stay the course long enough to finish out a whole year. My idea took a while before it materialized but I kept on pushing to complete it.
Finally, I figured out a standard design for the template. My design made me personalize the planner to my taste. It helped me set my goals by starting with the smallest, day-to-day goals, and slowly graduating to the bigger goals. Its unique feature was the ability to set realistic plans for myself at a pace I was comfortable with. I named it “Goal with a Purpose: The Intentional Goal Planner”.

Here is what I accomplished by using the planner.

  • ·         I built a successful business

  • ·         Scheduled and took trips and vacations.

  • ·         Started a family

  • ·         Purchased a home

  •           Adhered to a saving goal

  • ·         Returned to school

  • ·         Setup a five- year goal plan

I could not believe it! It was a breakthrough! I took control of my life back and set my goals in motion whilst accomplishing them far better than I could have ever imagined. My positive turnaround inspired me to spread this good news! I want to motivate you to take charge of your own life because no one can turn your life around other than you. You just need to set the plan in motion.
